もう１曲ご紹介いたします。Judy Collins とこの曲の作者であります Pete Seeger が歌います Turn Turn Turn。The Byrds というグループが歌い、そちらの方が有名かも知れませんが、個人的には Judy Collins の歌っている方が好きです。この Turn Turn Turn という曲は、旧約聖書の伝道の書第３章第１?８節 何事にも定められた時がある。天の下のすべての事には時がある。誕生のための時があり、死ぬのに時がある。植えるのに時があり、植えられたものを根こぎにするのに時がある。殺すのに時があり、いやすのに時がある。崩すのに時があり、建てるのに時がある。泣くのに時があり、笑うのに時がある。泣き叫ぶのに時があり、跳び回るのに時がある。石を投げ捨てるのに時があり、石を集めるのに時がある。抱擁するのに時があり、抱擁を控えるのに時がある。捜すのに時があり、失ったものとしてあきらめるのに時がある。保つのに時があり、捨てるのに時がある。引き裂くのに時があり、縫い合わせるのに時がある。黙っているのに時があり、話すのに時がある。愛するのに時があり、憎むのに時がある。戦いのための時があり、平和のための時がある。 から作られた曲です。実はわたしは聖書の中で、この伝道の書のこの部分が一番好きでしたので、ちょっと感動しました。伝道の書は厭世的とのことで、クリスチャンからは評判が悪かったりもするのですが、聖書らしからぬ書きぶりがかえって気に入っています。ただ第１章第９節の『日の下には新しいものは何もない』のくだりは、作者の意図がどのようなものか計り知れない部分もありますが、同意しかねます。自然界には人間の計り知れない部分の方が多いと思いますし、毎日の体験に新鮮さを感じれなければ、つまらないと...。

今わたしはちょうどこの 『憎むのに時』 のようです。
やがて 『平和のための時』 が来ることを祈るのみです。
